A very rare concert grand piano by Theodor Steinweg.

Theodor Steinweg, eldest son of the founder of the legacy Steinway & Sons, had from the beginning in the United States homesickness back to Germany and in the 1870s he was planning to get his feet back into Germany.
The construction of Steinway and sons pianos are his inventions, together with the physic scientist Helmholtz he developed the models that are still being produced today.
Theodor Steinweg was his exclusive piano production facility in Europe in the 1870s until he founded the Hamburg Steinway factory in 1880.

This rare concert Grand is in most aspects identical with Steinway & Sons from the same period. The ruby shellac on the surface is still original.
