Empire stool around 1810
Description
A rare original from the Empire period, circa 1810,
with a classic X-shaped frame made of solid wood.
The shape is reminiscent of antique curule seats, popular under Napoleon in the early 19th century.
The seat is covered in fine acid-dyed velvet and trimmed with a gold-colored fringe border – typical of the prestigious style of this era.
Origin: Probably France or southern Germany.
Condition following a previous restoration.
